Your child will have a Math Homelink to complete at home every Monday-Thursday. These are always due back to school the next day. Spelling homework will come home every Monday and is due back by Friday of that week. A Spelling Preview will come home each Monday. This will have 6 Spelling words on it to study for the test on Friday. Anything not completed in class will also be sent home for homework and is due back the next day.
Students generally have homework Monday through Thursday. Students are also expected to read each night for a minimum of fifteen minutes. Twenty minutes is preferred. Mondays: Students typically have a grammar worksheet for homework. Students are also given a fluency reading passage to read each night and their spelling words for spelling practice.
The 'Policy on School Bag ' document has been released by the Union Ministry of Education, amidst the steps being taken to implement the National Education Policy across the country. This document, prepared by the Ministry of School Education and Education Department of the Ministry, has made several important suggestions for the students of different classes of schools, from the maximum weight of the school back to covering the maximum part of the syllabus in the classrooms and giving homework. According to the 'School Bag Policy ' document released by the Ministry on 3 December , there is a provision for not providing any homework for students up to second grade in schools. Also, it has been suggested to give a maximum of 2 hours of homework every week to students from class III to V.
